Melanie Pfennig, Positive Pathway Therapy
Provider Types
This is a group practice with multiple providers, including:
- Clinical Social Work/Therapists
I am a licensed psychotherapist and I specialize in supporting youth and young adults navigating chronic illness (e.g., autoimmune disorders), anxiety, depression, sports-related stress, disordered eating, weight loss, trauma, and relationship challenges. Facing a chronic condition at a young age can feel isolating, and life changes such as starting college, beginning a new career, or being a student-athlete may be overwhelming. Navigating body image and your relationship with food can be confusing, and trying to lose weight only to fall back into old habits can feel defeating. Being a young person in today’s world IS hard - like trying to keep your head above water.
I lead sessions with compassion and lightheartedness. As a psychotherapist and future dietitian, I often use health psychology research and mind-body practices during the healing process. Therefore, I honor each person’s lived experience while helping them understand how their brain and body respond to stress.
I work to help you develop helpful thought patterns, identify your strengths, live by your values, and find relief. Most importantly, I hold space to be a human. If you feel that I may be a good fit for your needs, I would be happy to connect and discuss how I can help you on your healing journey.
