I see myself as a fellow traveler with my clients. The anti-oppressive and feminist framework I utilize in therapy is also deeply personal. My lived experience as a neurospicy woman, questioning hetero/mononormativity in relationships, embracing my queerness, tending to my grief and trauma, and in recovery from substance use is also present as part of my professional self. I cherish the privilege to be here with you! I dedicate my work to helping clients discover new strategies to more gently carry their lived experiences. Most especially: managing life transitions and existential crises; exploring neurodivergence; navigating chronic illness; relational ruptures; seeking answers about identity and belonging in queer spaces; grief; self-image challenges; exiting high-control relationships; transitioning out of endurance athletics; sensory sensitivities; climate grief/anxiety. Many clients receive me as a consistent, supportive presence who allows for space for what is, and offers mindful posing of questions that generate reflections and expand your perspective. My therapy "room" is also an open lab for exploring what comes up in the here-and-now, which opens you up for experiencing relational repair and growth. I hope our therapeutic relationship helps you to feel more authentic, empowered, and connected to your own essence.

Sometimes words don't cut it. Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or seeking a safe space to explore your inner world? Art therapy uses tools that take traditional talk therapy to the next level by giving you an embodied experience. The heart of my practice is believing people are their own experts. You are the ONLY you with your exact values, experiences, routines, heartaches, and desires. I want you to feel seen, foster a deeper understanding of your journey, and find answers and solace through your own innate intuition. If you're new to art therapy you may not be aware of how creativity can open new doors of understanding and connection. Sometimes we get stuck on a judgmental message from 1st grade that we aren’t “good” at artmaking. Well, I say forget that! You ARE inherently creative and it’s okay to heal using both the logical AND intuitive sides of your brain. You get to lead at your comfort level and I will authentically support you using tools and techniques (whether open-ended or more structured) to guide you. If you are seeking space to work through an issue you're having, improve self-esteem, cope with anxiety or depression, manage stress, deal with relationship or parenting issues, process trauma, or just vent, consider reaching out to me.
I have been in the field of mental health for over 20 years and have a passion to support people in a transition phase of life. Whether you are entering a new phase of life, becoming sober, exploring gender or sexuality, sudden loss of job or loved one, I can partner with you through this transition. If you are looking to explore values and find a path forward that feels meaningful and enriching
Although college can be a time of excitement and exploration, it can also feel extreme and bring up feelings that can be challenging to sort out on our own. Having the right support can make all the difference. At In Bloom Psychotherapy we are here to support you on this journey exactly as you are, helping you find the tools and resources to provide some relief and a better understanding of yourself. Among other issues, we specialize in working with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, relational issues, depression, college athletes, and outdoor enthusiasts. We incorporate body awareness and mindfulness into sessions because talk therapy alone may not be enough to shift old patterns and create new neural pathways in the brain. Some of our clinicians are trained in EMDR therapy and utilize approaches such as parts work, IFS, DBT, CBT, mindfulness and attachment theory. We know finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming and daunting. If something in this bio resonates with you, please reach out for a free twenty-minute phone consultation.
Hi everyone, I’m Amy, and I’m really glad you’re here. My approach to therapy is about creating a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and supported. I’m trained in EMDR and also like to bring in approaches such as mindfulness, walking sessions, breath work, and practical skill-building, depending on what feels most helpful for you. I also draw from DBT, which stands for Dialectical Behavior Therapy. In real life, that means learning concrete tools for things like calming yourself when emotions feel overwhelming, communicating more effectively in relationships, and finding ways to balance school, life, and stress. These skills are all about helping you feel more in control and supported in the day-to-day challenges you face. I’m also a mom, and I have deep respect and admiration for young adults — I really value the unique perspectives you bring to the world. My goal is to walk alongside you as you navigate challenges, discover your strengths, and build tools that support your growth both now and in the future.
Feeling "not good enough"? Like no mater how hard you try, you still feel "inadequate"? You don't have to internalize this damaging societal programming. It seems to bombard us from all directions: social media, in-groups at school, family, professors, society at large. Together we'll work to replace this narrative with one of innate worthiness, internal strength, emotional intelligence, enhanced well being, and more fulfilling relationships. In addition to traditional talk therapy, we'll use proven breathing techniques and movement exercises to reduce stress, anxiety, or depression and make room for your true uninhibited self to arise.

Taking the first step toward support is a powerful decision. I invite you to take the next step by reaching out today. Let’s work together to help you find clarity, balance, and confidence in your journey.
Students are often navigating many changes at once which is my specialty. I am here to help figure out what's next, how to move forward with decisions that fit your values, interests and strengths. I can also help determine if there are things in your family or your past that are holding you back so you can start to live your life the way you want to.

My Approach: Direct and Compassionate - I believe these are the two greatest traits I can bring into my work with others. While working with clients I strive to provide honest feedback that will help guide them forward towards recovery while offering compassion along the journey. I believe that the best route to change is a direct one that does not beat around the bush. The road to recovery of any form can be very difficult as life may be in a state of turmoil. I have found that offering a compassionate approach that fits an individual's needs is the best route to take. My specialities/areas of focus are: substance abuse, addiction and trauma. I am a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have additional trainings in Brainspotting and DBT. In my work as a counselor and my own life I have found that connection is of incredible importance. Inability or unwillingness to feel and express uncomfortable emotions can keep people disconnected. Through the process of recovery, lifestyle changes, and personal growth many people experience fear, anger, sadness, and many other emotions.
If you're struggling, I want you to know it doesn't have to be so hard, and you don't have to go it alone. Together we can begin to understand and cope with emotions and situations which can seem overwhelming. Relationships can create such powerful movement in our lives, and offer real hope. I share a profound respect for your choice to begin therapy, and will provide a non-judgmental space to express yourself. Anxiety, loss, transition -- often these struggles give us opportunity to grow and deepen our knowledge of ourselves.
Are you experiencing stress, difficulty transitioning into the college environment, relationship issues or feeling new or chronic stress and anxiety? I am here to support you. I work with clients who are looking to delve deeper into what might be causing an imbalance in their inner world and their relationships with self and others. Together we can navigate root causes of distress, discover old beliefs that may not be serving you, and work to access the parts of you that hold the keys to groundedness, joy and clarity.
I was raised in a commune-style farm setting in rural Pennsylvania, and earned my BA from Middlebury College and then my MA in counseling psychology from Lesley College. I am currently pursuing her certificate in Modern Psychoanalysis at the Academy for Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis in Livingston, NJ. I am a mother of three and a longtime practitioner of yoga, meditation, and Jin Shin Jyutsu (Japanese acupressure). These practices inform my interest in the well-being of the whole person. I provide a safe and comfortable space where you can explore the parts of your life that you value and also the parts you may want to change. My approach is to cultivate a sense of curiosity and kindness while supporting you in saying whatever is on your mind. As we put our thoughts and feelings into words, we tend to grow more comfortable in ourselves, even in the midst of discomfort. We may find ourselves in more positive relationships at home, at school, and at work. We may find more clarity about how we want to live our lives. Whether in person or online, I see the therapeutic process as a catalyst for reflection, exploration, self-understanding, and personal growth. Together, we will work to understand the richness of who you are and resolve whatever is getting in the way of achieving your personal and professional goals.
