I have over 10 years of experience partnering with clients across the lifespan around issues such as grief & loss, addiction, LGBTQIA+ issues, anxiety,, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. I seek to create a partnership with all of my clients so that our treatment is directed in accordance with your values and what is important to you. At the very least I want each and every client to walk away from one of my sessions feeling respected and heard.
I provide a safe, open environment to talk about any and all experiences or feelings. Some clients come for help through a short time period, or want to look at longer term issues and to make changes in their lives. Sometimes, it is simply to talk with an unbiased, nonjudgmental listener. Whichever it may be, I am privileged to take the journey with you. I will understand you as as a whole person, rather than a series of symptoms and diagnoses. I will pay attention to your background, your strengths, and the way we work together in addition to the presenting problem/s. I have worked in a variety of settings in the area, from several college counseling centers, community mental health facilities, and private practice. I draw upon this diverse training and experience to work with my clients.
You’ve been wondering why you do & feel the things you do—why specific behaviors keep repeating, why you feel stuck, no matter how much you try to change. You’ve done the self-help books, the podcasts, maybe a few short-term therapy stints, but you still find yourself repeating the same patterns. I help curious, motivated people ready to go deeper than symptom management. Together, we’ll explore the hidden patterns, emotional blocks, & past experiences that still shape your present. Our work will be thoughtful & challenging in the best way — the kind of therapy that helps you grow in ways you didn’t know were possible. My approach blends Psychodynamic Therapy with elements of CBT, DBT, Black feminist theory, empowerment, and sociopolitical thought. This allows us to work at both a deep, exploratory level and a practical, skill-based level, always tailored to you. Therapy can be challenging at times—it asks you to face yourself honestly—but it can also be profoundly enriching and life-changing. I work best with clients who are ready to commit to weekly, twice-weekly, or thrice-weekly sessions, so we can create the momentum & depth needed for real transformation. If you’re ready to begin that journey, send me an email.

I have enjoyed my work as a psychotherapist for 36 years. At this time, I am providing telehealth appointments. I offer individual, couple's and family services. I am a psychodynamic, family systems clinician, using a variety of treatment approaches. The goals of acceptance, healing and growth occur within a positive and safe environment. I believe that feeling worthwhile and having hope are key elements of mental health.
I consider the relationship between client and therapist one of the most important factors in therapy. As a therapist, my goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental space so I can assist others in exploring negative patterns in their lives and help them develop new tools to foster positive coping skills. I utilize a holistic approach to therapy, with special focus on the body and mind and how they interact. As a registered yoga teacher, my treatment approach places emphasis on turning inward and reconnecting with the body to help release stored emotions. I use a trauma-informed approach to life issues with clients and incorporate mindfulness skills, somatic movement, and breathwork into my therapy practice. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, PTSD, and mood disorders. Additionally, I work with clients who are experiencing grief and loss, life transitions, addiction, caregiver stress, interpersonal/relationship problems, and codependency.
Your present need not be your future! Life isn’t always easy. Today you may be anxious, depressed, stuck, overwhelmed, flunking out, and/or obsessed. Tomorrow can be different. The path to a better future may involve courageously exploring emotions or it may involve learning and practicing new habits or strategies. Sometimes little changes cause dramatic results. My specialty is working with you to determine what will work best for you. To this task I bring great depth and breadth of experience. I was actually a college dropout before I became a Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist after first becoming an Educational & Career Counselor & then applying my knowledge & skills on myself. I’ve been in private practice as a therapist for over 30 years, have consulted to hospitals for decades as a Clinical Neuropsychologist, taught the graduate course Neuropsychology to psychology doctoral students for 18 years, created the graduate course Nutrition, Brain and Behavior, provided lectures on neuropsychology for medical students and residents through Harvard Medical School’s Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and created many continuing education courses for psychologists and lectured college counselors nationwide on improving college performance. I’ve done thousands of assessments encompassing ADHD, learning disability, autism, memory disorders, executive dysfunction, anxiety disorders and depression, yet, despite this I do not think in terms of these labels. Most sessions begin with screening not to assign a diagnosis but determination of the type of psychotherapy or lifestyle changes with which you are likely to feel most comfortable. Take the first step towards a better tomorrow.
I create an environment which promotes safety and comfort in a way that is respectful and helpful. I work with the client at their own pace and we decide together what goals they want to address. Treatment is individually tailored to support clients managing daily stressors and coping with symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic disease, relationship issues and grief. My goal is to work with clients to identify strengths and to develop different coping strategies that will help to facilitate a positive outcome.
***While I am not in-network with the Dartmouth Student Health Plan, I do bill that plan directly and students only pay a $35 copay each session.*** I particularly enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate students and my clients find my office location on Main Street easy to access from campus. I provide a warm, professional, and respectful environment where we will explore the concerns that brought you to therapy. We will work together to develop a coherent narrative of what is working and not working in your life, and draw on my experience and training to cultivate the insights, tools, and resources to create positive change. I work with adolescents and adults on a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, identity questions, concerns about substance use, and life transitions; young adults struggling to thrive socially or academically; and the impact of learning disabilities on social and emotional functioning. My approach to therapy is informed by training and experience in traditional dynamic psychotherapy, CBT, attachment theory, executive function coaching and mindfulness techniques. I also have a deep interest in using findings in neuroscience to inform our understanding of various problems of living.

Hey there! I'm Kat! I believe that therapy is most effective when rooted in authenticity. New to therapy? Not sure where to start? No problem. College students today face so many pressures: family and peer expectations, major life decisions, an onslaught of social media messages, and multiple socio-political crises. Though these problems are daunting, you do not need to face them alone. I would be grateful to accompany you as you respond to the questions and challenges impacting your life. In my work thus far, my clients have often felt a sense of separation or space open up between themselves and their problems. I have helped people feel “known” for who they want to be in life, separate and apart from the influence of depression, anxiety, failure, addiction, conflict, hardship, etc. This gives them more room to explore the forgotten or not-yet-developed stories of their hopes, passions, values, and purposes, which can contribute to a feeling of empowerment in facing whatever difficult experiences brought them to therapy. Though I help people navigate many different kinds of mental and emotional challenges, I have a particular interest in having therapy conversations with folks 1) concerned about the environment, 2) interested in or wondering about their spirituality/ religion, and 3) who identify as men or who are dealing with the effects of patriarchy.
