Therapists for college students near 02139
Hi, I'm Brianna (she/hers)! I specialize in working with college students experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, and/or managing life transitions and relationship issues. Typical concerns can include adjusting to college, managing academic or athletic stress (including injuries), health anxiety including complex or chronic illnesses, and relationship stress, as examples. I work with individuals seeking to better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies and discover ways to improve their overall well-being, feel less anxious or stressed, and feel better in their day to day life. My approach is warm and collaborative to foster a trusting relationship. Using a blend of relational, attachment-based perspectives and skill building as needed, I help clients explore new ideas, challenge negative patterns or ways of thinking, and build resilience. You can expect me to share feedback, gently challenge ideas, and use humor in sessions. I'm also trained in Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), an evidence-based treatment for chronic pain, and provide this therapy as well. If you’re interested in exploring new ways to manage life's challenges, improve your well-being, and feel more resilient please feel free to reach out to set up a free consult call. I look forward to speaking with you!

Over the past more than 10 years of practice in psychotherapy, I am always amazed by people’s resilience, their longing and efforts for something better. I feel privileged to be part of their journey. While I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including 5 university counseling centers, I have deeply enjoyed working with college students and young adults during an important transitional period in their lives. I approach therapy from a strength-based, humanistic perspective which integrate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), interpersonal process, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotional focused Therapy and mindfulness. Welcome! Working with a diverse population for many years widen my appreciation toward everyone I encounter in the therapy room. My new clients often ask me, “What is your approach or therapy model?” Learning from years valuable experience, I do not take a blueprint or “one-size-fits-all” approach for clients. Every client has an individualized curriculum. You may be feeling distressed, facing difficulties in your personal or professional relationships, contemplating a major life transition, or navigating a health crisis. No matter what challenge brings, I will help you in resolving conflicts and strengthening your relationships. I will explore your options in a collaborative way while taking into consideration the hopes, expectations, values, and preferences that are significant to you. Using clinical sophistication and expertise I incorporate humility, kindness, and passion to create a caring environment. My life experience encompasses living in the Eastern hemisphere and Western hemisphere; also working in East coast and West coast of the U.S. It enriches me to carefully examine things in different angles and not “boxing people in” with narrowly defined categories. I also provide supervision for all learning stages. I look forward to meeting you!
Navigating OCD, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions can be emotionally and physically draining. There is little more frustrating than thinking and behaving in the same ways despite knowing they contribute to these issues and other debilitating symptoms. Therapy is a place to safely explore the thoughts, behaviors, and relationships that are interfering with living a more fulfilling and rewarding life. I am a trained OCD specialist and an active member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). I have extensive experience working with college undergrad and graduate students from my time as a counselor at the University of Colorado, Boulder and at Bryant University. Working directly on a college campus has provided me with a unique understanding of the intersection between academics and mental health, as well as how to navigate many campus systems best. Currently, in my private practice, I work with college students from the many different colleges in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Colorado. The majority of clients that I work with are navigating Anxiety or OCD and Related Disorders. My clinical approach to therapy is grounded in ERP, ACT, and CBT. I believe therapy is built around compassion, respect, and trust. I look forward to connecting with you and exploring how we can collaboratively achieve your treatment goals. Send me an email, give me a call, or visit my website (www.smithlicsw.com) to set up an appointment. If you are struggling and are tired of trying to handle things alone, please do not hesitate to get in touch. * I provide telehealth services to clients in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Illinois, Vermont, and Colorado.*

I work at CampusCare Counseling. I am trauma-informed in my approach. This means I work with clients to build trust, taking into consideration personal and socio-cultural factors, with the goal of forming a therapeutic relationship that empowers clients and allows their authentic selves to be in the therapy space. I believe growth, as defined by the client, happens from there. When clinically indicated, I pull from my experience and training with trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and EMDR. Welcome to Lily Mental Health! College can be one of the most exciting times of life — and also one of the hardest. Between academics, relationships, identity shifts, and the pressure to “have it all figured out,” it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected. On the outside you may look like you’re managing, but inside you may be struggling with stress, burnout, or the feeling that you’re not yourself. I’ve worked with hundreds of college students who’ve faced challenges like anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, trauma, and major life transitions. Many have already tried counseling, medications, or coping strategies, but still feel stuck and want something more thoughtful, practical, and personalized. My name is Julie Bass, I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Provider (PMH-C). I have worked in mental health for over 10 years and offer a blend of medication management and integrative strategies that go beyond quick fixes. My practice is intentionally small so I can provide personalized care — not rushed diagnoses or one-size-fits-all treatment plans. I take the time to really understand your story, explore the root causes of your symptoms, and help you find sustainable ways forward. I especially enjoy working with college students navigating identity, independence, and transitions, as well as international students, who often carry the added stress of being far from home, balancing cultural expectations, and adapting to a new environment. I also know how busy student schedules can be, so I offer early morning, evening, and weekend appointments to make care more accessible. If you’ve ever thought: “I should be able to handle this, but I feel like I can’t.” “I’m doing everything right, but I still don’t feel better.” “No one seems to actually listen.” …know that you’re not alone. My practice is built on the belief that you deserve care that feels collaborative, respectful, and empowering — care that helps you understand yourself and create lasting change. This is a space where your voice matters. Let’s work together to help you feel grounded, confident, and connected again.
