Regardless of your reasons for seeking therapy, it is vital that you feel understood and supported as you begin this process. You may be experiencing depression or anxiety, navigating a significant life transition, or feeling dissatisfied in areas of your life such as school, work, or relationships. Together, we will explore the forces that are keeping you stuck and help you cultivate a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. Using a variety of techniques including psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral interventions, our work together will be tailored to your unique needs. My therapeutic approach is characterized by warmth, curiosity, and flexibility. I have postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, and DBT. My past work experiences have included the Outpatient Trauma Clinic at McLean, the Outpatient Psychiatry Department at MGH, and the Psychiatry Department at New York Presbyterian. Finding the right fit between patient and therapist is important, so I offer a free phone consultation to help us determine if working together feels right. This consultation can also provide the opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about starting therapy. Please call or e-mail me to set up an initial consultation.

I believe in the importance of creating a warm, non-judgmental, and safe therapeutic space, and a relationship in which you feel supported, understood, and heard. Client’s that I work with often struggle with feeling good about themselves, navigating relational challenges, coping with distressing experiences, as well as feeling connected to and/or expressing their authentic self. I work very well with young people who are struggling to adapt to college or grad school, either socially or academically. I am able to diagnose ADHD and create treatment strategies. I also work very well with students who are struggling to differentiate from their parents or families. Sometimes this look like anxiety or depression, but it can have its roots in dysfunctional family systems. I am good at working with you to identify what you grew up with vs what you need now. I am in training as a sex therapist with a focus on how to get pleasure from sexual intimacy. I like to support sex workers, and can also attend to gaps in sexual functioning.

Trying to hold it together in college can be exhausting. If anxiety is constant, your focus is shot, your mood feels unpredictable, or you’re wondering why everything feels harder than it should — this is where we come in. We’re a small psychiatric practice with two experienced nurse practitioners who specialize in medication management for students. We take the time to understand what’s going on, explain things in plain language, and create a plan that fits your life — not just your symptoms.
