Times of transition are exciting and challenging. Starting something new, moving through inflection points in your education and career, preparing for completion and uncertainty while you figure out what's next, are all important processes everyone hopes will go smoothly - but sometimes they can feel rocky. Even good changes or subtle shifts can feel unsettling, especially for highly sensitive people. If social, academic or emotional / mental health issues are stressing you and making it hard to feel confident and supported in working towards your goals, therapy can be a great tool to help increase understanding about "how it all works" and get support in developing patience and progress towards deepening clarity and commitment to your goals. Anxieties, insecurity, depression, difficult patterns in relationships or work, and problems focusing can be understood and changed, so you have more energy and confidence to devote to living. Become more connected to yourself and others through a specialized process of exploration with a trained professional, and see a difference in your life. A therapist’s expertise and experience are very important, but the *key* ingredient of effective therapy is a “good fit” between you and your therapist. If you’d like to meet and see how it would be to work together, I would be pleased to hear from you. Beginning work as a psychotherapist in clinic settings in 1995, I opened my private practice in 2002. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from New York University, am a New York City based Licensed Clinical Social Worker (licensed in New York and New Jersey), and earned a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the NYFS Institute.
As a licensed mental health counselor dedicated to transforming patients’ lives, I work primarily with emerging adults (20- and 30-somethings) who are navigating life transitions, relational challenges, and low self-esteem, as well as symptoms of anxiety, and depression. This life stage comes with many unique challenges and transitions, so my mission is to assist you in identifying your patterns and strengths, while introducing strategies to help you move closer to your goals. In taking this relational approach, I also aid in setting boundaries and building secure attachment to allow for more meaningful relationships. In every session, I balance open-ended exploration of concerns with the introduction of tangible tools and skills to manage symptoms and reduce distress. Therapy is a collaboration, and I strive to meaningfully support you in ways that are tailored to your individual needs. I understand that starting therapy can be intimidating, which is why I offer a warm and compassionate space so you can bring your full self into sessions. My holistic, person-centered approach to care draws from various therapeutic modalities while remaining compassionate and recognizing the structural barriers to mental health. These modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), couples and group therapy, and attachment-oriented methods. A deep curiosity and care for people started me along the path to therapy. Working in a university career counseling center and volunteering with various social justice organizations fueled my desire to walk alongside people as they work toward their goals, while incorporating my passion for equity and justice. Mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum, so I bring the awareness that numerous internal and external factors contribute. Outside the office, I love visiting museums and galleries, reading, cross-stitching, and listening to comedy podcasts. I also enjoy spending time outdoors and foraging – there are a shocking amount of edible plants, even in NYC!

Many insurances are accepted and services provided in-person and Telehealth. Psychotherapy will help you navigate difficulties in relationships, careers, and life in general. It will help you understand and work through the emotional roadblocks, such as anxieties and depressive moods that can cause individuals to struggle, . Modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, IMAGO, psychodynamic and relational approaches, are used in my practice. An essential feature of this approach is the development of a unique and trusting relationship between client and therapist. Being a student can bring a lot of pressure, uncertainty, and emotional weight. If you are feeling stuck, anxious, or carrying pain that is hard to explain, you are not alone. I am here to support you and help you make sense of what you are experiencing in a way that feels honest and respectful. My approach is trauma informed, queer affirming, and non-more pathologizing. I believe your symptoms make sense in the context of your experiences. Together we will explore those patterns with care and curiosity, not judgment. I draw from EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Eastern philosophy to support healing, growth, and connection to your values. This work is always shaped by you, your story, your pace, and your goals. If you are ready to begin or just curious about starting, I would be happy to connect.

Through creating a warm and supportive space, I hope to help you better understand your experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward meaningful change. I offer an individualized, integrative approach grounded in psychodynamic therapy while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based strategies. As a licensed mental health counselor, I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and attachment issues for people of all backgrounds, with a particular focus on women and LGBTQ+ individuals. I’m here to help you navigate identity, life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, uncertainty, and self-doubt while reconnecting with your strengths and creating meaningful change. My hope is to be a steady, affirming presence who will support and challenge you with compassion as you work toward your goals, because I believe meaningful change begins in the safety of a trusting therapeutic relationship. Together, we can deepen your understanding of yourself, strengthen your relationships, and move through life with greater confidence and ease. Psychodynamic work and Mindfulness ground my approach, which is relational, curious, and culturally attuned. I'm passionate about exploring how our experiences shape who we are, and I blend these approaches with evidence-based interventions to support you in creating lasting, meaningful change through insight, connection, self-compassion, and action. In our sessions, you'll find an affirming and compassionate space where all parts of you are welcome. My style is warm, collaborative, and gently challenging, and I tailor our work to your unique experiences, values, and goals. My path to becoming a therapist began long before graduate school. As a child, I often found myself at the center of playground drama, wondering, "How did I get here?" and "Why is everyone acting the way they are?" That early curiosity about people, relationships, and the stories behind our behaviors stayed with me throughout my life, growing into a deep commitment to providing empathetic, affirming, and culturally responsive care. Now, I value bringing warmth, curiosity, and authenticity to each session, creating a space where patients can better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that shape their lives. I have loads of hobbies! I love everything from collaging and oil painting to singing at karaoke and running.

I’ve spent 25 years working in schools as a therapist which provided me knowledge of the adolescent and young adult experience and challenges around the academic pressures. I am trained in multiple interventions from AEDP/IFS/AF-EMDR which allows me to provide support around anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and trauma.
As a social worker, I specialize in anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, relationship and interpersonal issues, and grief counseling for a range of populations, including adolescents, young adults, and older adults. I’ve supported patients in managing these various challenges that affect mental health throughout my career, bringing the same attentiveness and integrity to every person I work with. This combination allows me to be a supportive clinician, and I'm looking forward to providing you a safe space to do the work of your mental health journey. Person-centered, non-judgmental, and collaborative care isn't just a description of my approach; it's the foundation of how I show up for you. I’m passionate about creating a safe, authentic, and open space where you can learn more about yourself in therapy. Sessions draw on strengths-based and person-focused therapy to support your mental health journey, and my style stays adaptable so I can meet you where you are. That flexibility lets me shape our work around the goals that matter most to you. Therapy has always called to me. Since I was young, I've been the friend who listens and supports the people around me, offering insight and space to those who want to be heard. In college, I was inspired by my neuropsychology professor, who described the function of our brains and nervous system, and I've felt drawn to this work ever since. I bring all of these experiences and interests with me in providing authentic, person-centered care today. When I’m not in session, you’ll most often find me singing, playing tennis, or traveling!

Adolescence and adulthood can be exciting and overwhelming. Navigating academic pressures, identity exploration, relationship challenges, or major life transitions can be daunting to tackle on your own. I specialize in supporting adolescents, young adults, and their families as they face anxiety, depression, trauma, identity concerns, and the stress of achievement and belonging. My experience working as an assistant dean of admission at Princeton University, coupled with my counseling experience at Princeton’s counseling and psychological center, and working in an independent K-12 school, has informed my deep understanding of the pressures students and families face in academic, social, and developmental spaces. In therapy, we’ll explore moments of vulnerability and discomfort that can contribute to self-doubt and isolation. I work collaboratively with individuals and families to uncover ways to strengthen communication and bring clarity to relational dynamics. My goal is to create an affirming space rooted in empathy and cultural humility, where you develop tools towards empowerment and rediscover your authentic self. I take an integrative and trauma-informed approach, grounded in person-centered, culturally responsive, and strength-based care. I draw from CBT with a multicultural and feminist lens, working with individuals from diverse backgrounds who may be navigating their gender and sexuality, cultural, and intersectional identities. Whether you're exploring therapy for the first time or continuing your journey, I am committed to making mental health care approachable and welcoming for everyone.
