Many of my clients come to me with emotional wounds. They often felt invisible, rejected, devalued, or deeply hurt by others. They learned to adapt to the unsupportive environment by judging themselves, tensing up, trying to control everything, disconnecting from themselves, numbing their feelings, not trusting others, hiding, or trying to please everyone. As time goes by, these strategies stop working and become symptoms we label as depression, anxiety, disordered eating, substance use, PTSD, self-harm, etc. I work with clients to break free from the past and live life in the way they want. I offer a safe space where clients feel seen, accepted and empowered. I collaborate with clients to set goals and identify/build on their strengths. I use body-based therapies (EMDR, SP, Mindfulness, etc) to help clients resolve past trauma. I incorporate ACT and DBT to help clients manage stressors more effectively and live more meaningful/fulfilling lives. As a BIPOC psychologist and bilingual immigrant, I have extensive experience serving clients with marginalized identities. I show curiosity and respect to client’s lived experiences related to their identities and feel honored to be able to support clients in breaking barriers and living up to their full potentials. If any of these speak to you, let’s chat!

If this is your first time looking for a therapist, or continuing your journey into self discovery finding someone to connect with may feel like a difficult task. I believe that the most important step in finding success in therapy is connecting with someone who understands you and can hear your perspective and respectfully challenge your thought process. Whether you are someone who comes to this setting thinking, “I don’t even know where to start,” or are coming with a list of tasks to begin working on, I would enjoy getting to know you As a previous director of a college counseling center I have experience working with teens, college age students, and young adults stepping out on their own and trying to discover who they are. Specifically working with LGBTQIA+ population on learning what their identity means in a new environment. As an adoptive parent and social worker I also have experience working with parents or teens who have had experience in foster care or adoption. My approach is person centered, and strength based. I have spent the last 15 years working in non-profit health centers and hospitals. I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work (2010), and licensed in MA and OR

Hi, I’m Jessica Izsak As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon, I offer a warm, grounded space where you can begin to make sense of what feels heavy, stuck, or overwhelming. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy, and you do not have to carry it alone. My work is rooted in EMDR and IFS-informed parts work, with additional support from ACT, DBT, and other trauma-informed approaches. I tailor therapy to each person’s needs, pace, and goals, with care that is thoughtful, collaborative, and steady. At Whole Self Mental Wellness, I see you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. My hope is to help you feel more understood, more connected to yourself, and more supported in moving toward healing and change.

Those that come to my practice are often looking a safe space to open up and discuss what is bothering them. My main objective is to provide a safe relationship that is open, non-judgmental, and genuinely empathetic. I believe that these are the ingredients for creating a secure bond through which deep exploration can occur. Through the practice of talk-therapy one can develop self-awareness, understand their behaviors, resolve traumas, and begin to change unwanted patterns. Together we will identify coping skills and valued actions to move you in the direction of a valued life, while also reframing painful thoughts or beliefs that are getting in your way.

Do you need guidance navigating difficult emotions, past trauma, family and life transitions. Are you someone who struggles with depression or anxiety, connection to others, or could use a neutral perspective and someone to talk to? Everyone wants to feel safe and supported while going through challenges. I work with teens and young adults to explore different ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving to increase self-awareness and improve functioning. My therapeutic approach involves acceptance and non-judgment. I use interventions that foster natural strengths, and work in collaboration with clients to build skills aligned with their specific needs, capabilities, and goals. Clients gain valuable tools rooted in evidenced based practice, that aim to explore root causes of distress and develop resiliency. Confronting personal difficulties is not easy and I approach counseling with compassion, empathy, confidentiality and trust. Together we can create new coping strategies, positive social connections, self-esteem and confidence in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

I trained and worked in college and university counseling centers for 15 years before starting my own practice. I understand the unique needs and stressors of college and university settings - especially for non-trad and grad students. I help insightful adults who are struggling to balance multiple roles and responsibilities get clarity on what matters most, see what’s getting in the way of living the life you want, and learn how to find meaning, purpose, and peace. My approach to therapy is strengths based and focuses on resilience and empowerment. You are the expert in your life, and your cultural identities are of the utmost importance. My goal is to create a safe space in which you feel authentically seen and heard. Your values will inform our sessions as we work to better understand you, the context of your life, and what you need to heal, grow, or change. I’d like to be on your team. I can help you: Build confidence Cope with stress and self doubt Prioritize your own needs and continue to show up in all of the areas of your life Feel like you are living life to your full potential If you have an idea of what you want in life, but don’t know how to get there, we can explore deeper insights into yourself and your experiences as you make change or adjust to the changes that are happening around you.

Prior to establishing a private practice, I worked within a university counseling center setting and I have several years of experience working with college students. I have supported students struggling with stress, anxiety, relationship concerns, depression, trauma, grief/loss, adjustment, disordered eating, racism/discrimination and more. It’s important to me that I understand my clients experiences and work collaboratively with them to support their goals. Many of the students I work best with are navigating big transitions—adjusting to college or grad school, balancing academics with athletics, managing relationships, or figuring out what comes next. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or unsure of how to move forward. Some students come to me struggling with stress, burnout, or motivation, while others are working through challenges like past trauma, substance use, or relationship patterns that no longer serve them. I have a particular interest in supporting student-athletes and individuals dealing with performance pressure, identity, and the unique demands of competitive environments. Many of the people I work with feel stuck in old patterns and want to create meaningful, lasting change. In our work together, I focus on creating a space where you can be open, honest, and fully yourself without judgment. Therapy with me is collaborative—we’ll work as a team to better understand what’s going on and develop practical tools that fit your life. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and equipped to handle challenges now and in the future.

I specialize in effective therapy for adults who are suffering from anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and assertiveness issues. I enjoy working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community and other minority populations. I have seven years of experience in working with college and university students. This has sparked my interest in working on topics such as life transition, career exploration, and examinations of one's identities. Many clients have expressed appreciation for my authenticity, warmth, and caring nature. I tend to integrate somatic and cognitive/behavioral modalities.

My style is warm and supportive. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches (cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, brief solution focused therapy, and family systems theory) to help clients feel heard, share their story, decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression, address traumas, and improve the quality of their lives. I emphasize strengths, and help clients set realistic and achievable goals.
