Wellness is your birthright; you are already worthy. This means you are worthy of a mental health practitioner who will partner with you, support you, and equip you to live the life of wellness you believe you are capable of, but may be struggling to cultivate alone. When clients leave sessions with me they can expect to feel heard, seen, that they aren’t alone, and they have options and practical steps reflective of their uniqueness to incorporate in their life before the next session. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has spent the past 15 years partnering with people on their journey to wellness. I specialize in supporting those who identify as women between the ages of 18-65 who desire informed, compassionate, creative, yet practical support to live well even as they manage trauma, sexual assault/abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, and loss, workplace or career challenges, relationships, and identity shifts and changes. I’ve worked at several colleges and universities across the United States, as far west as Spokane, WA, north as Buffalo, New York, and as local as center city Philadelphia, leading wellness programming for students on campus and counseling services. I earned a BA in Human Development and Family Science, an MS in Mental Health Counseling, and upon moving back to the Philadelphia, PA area knew I wanted to start a private practice, which I did in 2018.

When many people begin therapy, they don't know where to start. That is totally normal and no one I see needs to have all the answers right now. The people I work with often are going through a tough transition, experiencing stress at school, struggling with feelings of anxiety or depression, or they may have had something really distressing happen to them. Often, they may be noticing patterns of avoidance, procrastination, and self-shaming. Sometimes they're also experiencing stress in their relationships. Whatever is happening, I honor how challenging the process of reaching out for support can be, and I am here to help by working together with those who come to my practice. I specialize in attachment based EMDR therapy, which is incredibly useful for addressing distressing events (in the past or present); chronic stress, severe anxiety, and feeling like you are "stuck" on an issue that just doesn't seem to go away. It can also help resolve old wounds that are impacting current relationships. I'm here to help make the process of beginning therapy easier and help create a sense of safety by collaborating with you to address your needs. I also respect that paying for therapy can be complicated. To help, I offer a service where I can submit billing info to a service that files documentation with your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursements. If eligible, you may be able to receive a portion of your money back for therapy, making payment easier. I am also able to check to see if you're eligible for reimbursement. If you are a student in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Florida, the next step is to email or call me today. I look forward to connecting!

Life burning down around you? Cool, grab a seat. Cry, laugh, drop a few F-bombs. You’re safe here. Welcome to therapy! I’m a therapist, a professor, and a real human who’s lived through real things. I don’t do this work from a distance. I’ve moved through anxiety and depression. I’ve grieved the loss of people I love. I’ve gone through divorce. I’m raising a child with special needs… and all of that shapes how I show up for you. In my therapy space, we slow down. We breathe. We talk honestly. We laugh sometimes. We grieve sometimes. And we make room for the parts of you that you’ve had to hide to survive. Therapy should reflect your inner world and the world you live in, so I bring a progressive, social justice-rooted perspective to my work. I see you as a whole person through a bio-psycho-social-cultural-spiritual lens. I am fat-positive, sex-positive, kink-friendly, and identity-affirming. I am client-centered and strengths-based. Going to therapy can be scary. You’re pouring your life out to someone you don’t know. You’re sharing things you’ve never said out loud. That takes vulnerability. Folks trust me to hold some of the most complicated parts of their lives. It’s an honor, and I want to be a good vessel for that, someone who holds your story with care and compassion, and without judgment. I believe everyone should have access to affordable health and mental health care, so don't let the price deter you. Contact me to discuss our sliding scale. I also offer a no-pressure, first session to make sure it is a good fit!

IOP Sanare Today is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that provides group treatment for individuals in crisis or who are struggling with maintaining emotional stability. We offer both mental health and substance use groups. Groups are held 4 days a week to provide more support and direction than traditional outpatient care. IOP groups are provided separately for adolescents and adults. The IOP is an effective step down transition for individuals coming out of a hospital or as a preventive measure to inpatient treatment. Each group session runs for 2 ¼ hours. Family support groups are scheduled weekly or every other week. Sanare Today offers day and evening programs in several different office locations. Life Coaching Sanare Today also offers life coaching. Sanare Today Life Coaching provides guidance for day to day living as well as therapeutic technique implementation. It involves working with adolescents and adults struggling to thrive at their ideal capacity. The core process involves mainly individual, but at times, group sessions. The coaching plan is determined through the collaboration of the client, the coach and the referring provider (if applicable). Each session runs for a total of 60 minutes, unless predetermined otherwise. Sanare Today Life Coaching is designed for individuals who would benefit from more experiential services instead of, or in addition to, traditional mental health or substance use treatment. Life coaching is an effective step down from the intensive outpatient program and an effective addition to individual, one-on-one treatment.

The Counseling Corner is a group of dedicated clinicians who take pride in providing quality mental health care. As a mental health practice, we assist members by providing therapy to a wide array of people who are in pursuit of happiness. Our team is comprised of exceptional clinicians with a variety of specialties to ensure we give you the best support possible. From our founder: I wanted to take a moment to share something deeply personal and meaningful to me. At 23, I faced an unimaginable loss when I lost my mother to alcohol addiction. It was a painful journey that led me to struggle with my own mental health for nearly a decade. During that time, I often searched for a purpose and a way to turn my pain into something positive. Today, I’m proud to announce that I’ve opened this mental health practice. We are building a team of incredible clinicians, each of whom shares a commitment to help others navigate difficult times and find hope and healing. Our goal is to create a safe space where people can feel understood, supported, and empowered on their journey to wellness. We’re here to save lives and help individuals reclaim their strength. I invite anyone who feels the need to talk to someone who is ready and eager to listen to them. I have worked in mental, behavioral and relational health for the last ten years and am excited to incorporate more couples, duos, ethically and consensually non-monogamous clients as well as individuals. As a student marriage and family therapist with a behavioral therapy background, I have worked alongside and with a diverse group of humans. One approach to issues which I have adopted in my practice is the idea that all behavior is communication, sometimes we need some help finding out what we are trying to say. In session, it is important that each person feels heard, seen and respected equally. I approach sessions with a focused ability to provide an outside set of eyes, voice, and join in a stance of co-collaborator with clients in the healing and problem solving process. Whether we are working through a conflict, identity questions, or just checking in.

Do emotions take over and exhaust you? Have people marveled at how resilient you are or mentioned your sensitivity as a liability? Maybe you sometimes wonder if you’re the only one who is seeing the hurt and pain all around. It’s likely you have figured out how to adapt to what the world wants you to be. You present the part of yourself that is widely accepted by your community and our social systems, but what about the rest of YOU? We always hear that college is the best days of our lives, but it is also a time a self discovery. That discovery process can be painful, and I can help. I guide young adults to connect to their inherent worth, power, and self-compassion. I work collaboratively with clients and draw from an expansive toolbox including body-oriented practices, talk therapy, and expressive arts. I am well suited to work with clients who are interested in mindfulness meditation and other body-based exercises to be the center of their therapeutic experience. My scope of practice includes anxiety, grief, burn-out, persistent depression, relational stressors, survivors of sexual trauma, and those navigating life as an artist. I align with clients whose identities and values defy society's conventional norms. My practice is trauma-informed, and I am dedicated to an anti-oppression, anti-racist, body positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming and equitable lens.

You feel like there's a rule book for life that you missed. You have/need an ADHD or Autism diagnosis, or maybe people tell you that you should, but what does that really mean? I can help you understand what this means for you; how impacts you, and what this might mean in relationships. This might include work on planning, executive functioning, anxiety, working on personal goal setting/finding direction, or a diagnostic evaluation, or being yourself. You'll have a safe place to be yourself, insight into your life, and concrete tips for moving forward, allowing you to be the best possible version of yourself. It's about you.

I help individuals struggling to have power over themselves and their decisions. I also help couples and families who are struggling to maintain trust and connection in their relationships. Sometimes we feel stuck in a vicious cycle or pattern of behaviors that we need extra help interrupting. I help empower clients to help themselves, break the cycle and create a new pattern on their own terms.
