Therapists for college students near Austin, TX
My approach as a therapist is simple- I'm here to help you recognize the parts of yourself that you're proud of and change the parts you want to be different. Trust me, there is no problem too big or too small to bring to therapy! My clients have usually included people who have been marginalized by socio-economic barriers, people who have experienced trauma, and those with autism or other types of neurodivergence, or developmental disabilities. Since these issues can make life especially tough in new and different ways during college and the transition to adulthood, I've found that this stage of life can be the perfect time to seek out some help. Although I have a lot of experience working with ages 12-18, I'm also passionate about providing therapy to adults throughout the lifespan. I believe that a comfortable working relationship between you and your therapist is so important for you to fully access your resilience to heal and be empowered to achieve your goals. I'll always encourage you to give me honest feedback to ensure that sessions are supportive and meet your specific needs. Sessions with me will always be judgement free zones where authenticity and vulnerability are highly valued. Whether that sounds well within or far outside your comfort zone, I'd love to meet to answer any questions you have and to see if we might be a good fit. Find me at Austin Trauma Therapy Center (virtually or in-person) or schedule virtual sessions by clicking on my Headway website link.
I have clinical experience at a large university counseling center in New York, and my time there made me realize how much I like working with college students of all kinds. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing adjustment issues, relationship distress, stress-related problems, trauma effects, depression and mood dysregulation, and life transitions. I emphasize an integrative, eclectic approach to healing and wellness that includes psychodynamic psychotherapy and mind/body awareness. I'll help you explore feelings, sensations, and past experiences, making sense of what we discover and creating the changes necessary for a more vibrant life.
I'm a licensed therapist who works with first-generation college students, children of immigrants, and culturally diverse young adults navigating the ups and downs of college life and early adulthood. As an immigrant myself, I truly get it—the push and pull between cultures, carrying your family's dreams on your shoulders, feeling proud of your background while also wanting to find your own way, and all the complicated feelings that come with it. Whether you're dealing with family expectations, figuring out your identity, managing academic stress, or just trying to adjust to everything that college throws at you, I bring both personal understanding and professional experience to our conversations. This is a warm, judgment-free space where you can talk about what's really going on, recognize the strengths you already have, and learn practical ways to handle whatever challenges come up.

Welcome! Starting therapy is a big step. I understand how overwhelming it can be to experience anxiety, stress, or intrusive thoughts. It takes courage to seek help, and I am so glad you are here! Therapy is most effective when it is tailored to you and uses research-backed treatment. I use evidence-based methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). These therapies are supported to alleviate symptoms and empower you to reclaim your life—returning to activities that anxiety may have previously taken you away from.

Hi, I’m Dr. Udo Chukwuocha, a doctoral-prepared psychiatric and family nurse practitioner who offers a supportive and holistic approach to mental health. I work well with college students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, unmotivated, emotionally stuck, or experiencing sleep and focus issues. Many of my clients are adjusting to big life transitions, juggling school and personal pressures, or trying to make sense of their emotions and habits. I especially enjoy supporting students from BIPOC and immigrant communities, as well as women navigating mood changes related to hormones. If you’ve had negative experiences with mental health care before or felt misunderstood, I strive to create a space that feels inclusive, collaborative, and respectful of your unique background. My approach blends medication management with lifestyle coaching, brief supportive therapy, and integrative tools like supplements and lab testing when helpful. If you're looking for care that looks at the bigger picture—not just symptoms—I’d be glad to support you.
Hi, I'm Pak P., LMFT. In my practice, I provide therapy for individuals and couples navigating stress, relationships, and emotional challenges, with a specialized focus on men’s mental health, high-performing professionals, and culturally informed care. For couples, whether you're dating, engaged, or already married, I focus on building support and improving communication. My goal is to identify areas of growth for you as a couple working collaboratively toward positive change. The therapy journey is about connecting with yourself, gaining the confidence to navigate life's changes, and making positive steps toward the life you desire. In my therapeutic approach, I create a unique treatment plan just for you based on the foundations of psychodynamic theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). This creates a comprehensive and effective therapeutic experience designed for you. Psychodynamic theory helps us to explore your unconscious processes, childhood experiences, and the impact they have on your present behaviors and emotions. It provides a rich understanding of the underlying dynamics that influence your thoughts and actions. EFT focuses on the emotional bonds within relationships, emphasizing the importance of creating secure connections and emotional responsiveness. In both individual and couples therapy, psychodynamic theory allows you to better understand the roots of deep-seated patterns. This can help you recognize and address unresolved issues that may be influencing your current struggles. For example, if you are grappling with recurrent relationship difficulties, psychodynamic exploration can help you uncover patterns established in childhood that affect your perception of intimacy and closeness. It’s pretty powerful! For couples counseling, EFT focuses on the emotional dynamics between you and your partner. It helps you identify and reshape negative patterns of interaction. For instance, if you are stuck in a cycle of blame and withdrawal you might learn to express vulnerable emotions and needs breaking the continuous cycle. By integrating psychodynamic theory and EFT, therapy becomes a dynamic and holistic journey. This can help you break free from unhealthy patterns and enter into a new stage of life. Seeking assistance is a sign of courage and a willingness to deal with life’s many changes. I look forward to providing you with the support you need in this journey

Hi there! We are an outpatient practice offering in-person and virtual appointments. We specialize in working with those navigating the tricky terrain of growing up—dealing with friendship shifts, school pressure, big emotions, and the journey of self-discovery. Many of the clients who find us describe themselves as high-performing yet often struggling with things such as: suspected or diagnosed ADHD, chronic anxiety, burnout, and who are seeking balance amidst life's demands. Their work often centers on identity exploration, navigating interpersonal relationships, building self-esteem, developing a more compassionate relationship with their bodies and food, and adapting to life transitions. We encourage you to reach out for a consultation call to determine how we can best support you and answer any questions you might have about the therapy process.

Many of the clients I work with feel weighed down by stress, anxiety, or life transitions. As someone raising two college-age children, I understand how change can bring both growth and uncertainty. Life often pulls us in many directions, and it can be hard to slow down and care for ourselves. Together, we take time to explore what feels heavy, build healthier ways to cope, and create a sense of balance, confidence, and peace.
