Stress, anxiety, and depression can consume us in unimaginable ways. Throw in the complexities of navigating important relationships, and whoa, can life seem overwhelming. As humans, we are all equipped with unique strengths to help us get through the various stressors life presents. I would like to help you learn to hone in on the innate strengths and values that make you who you are and how to apply them to your daily life. My goal in working with you is to ensure a compassionate and non-biased therapeutic setting where you feel safe and comfortable being yourself. Seeking out help is not always an easy thing to do. Im glad you are here. My approach is somewhat eclectic and bioindividual. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy methods in tandem with solution-focused, person-centered, and mindfulness types of modalities. I typically work with adults and young adults experiencing symptoms of anxiety, ADHD, depression, perfectionism, relationship issues, trauma, and general stress. Here’s a quick bit of information about my education, and areas of focus. I graduated from University of Louisville with Masters in Couple’s and Family Therapy, as well as Social Work. The majority of my training is in family systems therapy. In short, that means I believe all things function as a system and are interconnected. My approach to therapy is person centered, informal, and conversational. I believe it’s important to look at the whole picture, instead of solely placing the weight of the problem on one person. I also enjoy looking at Mind- Body- Spirit connection, which in my opinion tends to promote overall well-being. My focuses areas are: daily stressors, Depression, Anxiety, Life Adjustments, Relational concerns, etc. Some of the techniques I pull from frequently are: CBT,DBT, Distress Dis-tolerance( Mindfulness), IFS, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, and motivational interviewing. Therapy is not a one size fit all. It’s important that the time you spend in session is designed for you. My work with you is tailored to you. My goal in session is to collaborate with you on your desired plan. I see myself as an assistant/ collaborator to helping you turn over the pieces in your life that need your attention. Therapy is the space and time where you are given the opportunity to be who you are. It is the space for you to be accepted and validate in a safe environment.
Whenever you may feel overwhelmed by life, making a decision to participate in emotional therapy sessions can be beneficial. Collaborating with a trained professional to manage the complexity of what you may be facing has been proven to be effective in learning life-long skills. These skills and experiences can help in building your own wisdom in life to better live in ways that fit what you value and what is important to you
I work best with students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or trying to make sense of a lot of emotions at once. You might be navigating big transitions, relationship stress, academic pressure, or feeling unsure about who you are or what comes next. Sometimes everything looks “fine” on the outside, but internally it feels heavy or hard to manage. The students I work with are often thoughtful and self-aware, but may feel stuck, overthinking, or emotionally drained. They’re looking for a space where they can slow down, understand what they’re feeling, and learn how to manage stress in a way that actually works for them. If you’re open to exploring your experiences, building emotional awareness, and finding more balance and clarity, we would likely be a good fit.
Do you find yourself unable to shut your mind off? Replaying past events or chronically worrying? Is your inner critic keeping you from finding confidence in yourself and security with your place in the world? Have you experienced emotional pain and confusion that keeps your past in the present? Are you struggling to build self-esteem or find self-worth? Has the stress from daily responsibilities compounded existing problems with depression, anxiety, or loss? It is possible to move through emotional pain and self-doubt. Together, we can build insight into thoughts, patterns, and behaviors that may be holding you back; explore your strengths and values; and determine how to make healthy change a part of your life. Learning styles vary, so I use elements from different therapeutic approaches. We can work together to discover the strengths you may not have known you have to achieve more satisfaction and balance in the most important areas of your life.
I’ve spent the better part of the last two decades working as a clinician with a diverse array of clients facing a wide range of issues. Common themes throughout my carreer have been recovery from substance abuse, trauma, existential crises, and managing life when the multiple factors that are out of our control become overwhelming.

While college presents many exciting opportunities, it can also be a challenging time in your life. Maybe you're feeling the weight of academic pressures, wrestling through new ideas and realizations about the world, or navigating social life in a new way - maybe a combination of all of the above! You don't have to navigate these experiences alone. I offer an environment that is both compassionate and empowering, to walk alongside you in your pursuit of growth and healing. I offer counseling in-office, through telehealth, and in outdoor-settings. If the traditional office setting isn't for you, we can meet while on a hiking trail or on a walking path. We'll work together to meet your needs, in helping you reach your goals through the use of evidence-based practices, such as mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy, and a trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and trusting relationship.
We know times are rather challenging and happy to support our local community during this time. All of our clinicians have previous professional experience and are very passionate about servicing individuals that struggle with anxiety, concerns, grief, depression and life stressors. We will also be offering family counseling for those in need of family support. Rates start as low as $35 per session with our masters level interns or between $110-$175 for licensed therapists. If you have anyone that does not have insurance or is struggling with funds for mental health care. *We will also be offering a small selection of pro bono appointments on case by case basis.
I do individual counseling with individuals who have mental health and or substance abuse or addiction issues.
Hi, I'm Bonnie! Life is full of many challenges and transitions, especially during young adulthood when navigating the stresses and pressures of personal, professional, and academic next steps. Whatever brings you to seek therapy, I would be honored to be alongside you for the journey to healing and wholeness. I am passionate about providing a safe space for you to feel seen and heard, while providing competent, evidence-based therapy. I incorporate a variety of approaches based on your unique needs, but I specialize in psychodynamic approaches like Internal Family Systems that recognize how the past influences your present. Together, we can work through whatever has been holding you back to get you to a place of feeling healthier, more grounded, and fully empowered to live into your most authentic self.
I treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, trauma, anxiety, and perfectionism. I draw upon a unique breadth of life experience in helping students to chart their own paths forward. Previous roles: Management Consultant, Head of School, and Teacher. I hold an MSW program from The Ohio State University, MPA from Harvard University, and BA in Psychology from Northwestern University.
I see individuals working through transitional issues (university, relational, stage of life), common mental health issues (anxiety, depression, ADHD), and trauma (adverse childhood events, sexual/psychological/physical abuse, etc). Individuals I work with often are seeking therapy to feel more like themselves, relieve symptoms of mental health, and enjoy their day-to-day lives more. I find we are often a good fit when looking at therapy as an opportunity to connect, process, & grow. As a licensed clinical social worker, my role is to partner with you to navigate your experiences and challenges that are affecting you or your loved one's life at home, at work, or at school. In my practice I work with adolescents, adults, and families in a safe, comfortable setting. I have over ten years of clinical experience working with individuals and families who have experienced trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and loss. I provide short-term and long- term therapy to treat issues involving anxiety, mood, personality, and substance use disorders. I use evidence-based approaches and my training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Together we will work to discover the best way to reach your treatment goals.
I believe that one of the most healing aspects of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client which is one intended to be that of a traveling companion rather than an "expert"-"advice receiver" relationship. This is why I tend to pay special attention to the formation of that relationship in order to help others explore what matters to them and engage in those values in the face of mental health barriers. I have been able to work with individuals that find themselves struggling with lasting impacts of trauma, depression, anxiety, interpersonal concerns, and life transitions.
