I'm so proud of you. Navigating the work stressors and life transitions on a daily basis. Also, you worry what others may be thinking about your ability to show up and push through. After all, you’re the “strong one”. It can be exhausting. My goal is to journey with you to learn the skills to break the patterns that keep you stuck. You don’t have to face your stressors alone.

Hi! I’m Paige (they/she) Whether you are struggling with your identity, the transitions and pace of being in school, or your overall mental health, I would love to see how we can make your life run more smoothly. I aim to make therapy accessible to all of my clients and we can talk about what this means for you. Fidgeting is welcome, as well as eating or knitting while we chat. I mainly use Internal Family Systems which sees each person as made up of a system of parts. These parts interact with one another with the goal of maintaining safety and avoiding harm and pain. Through the experience of trauma, our parts may take on more extreme roles to protect us. We will work together to heal these parts so that they can contribute to the internal system in more helpful ways. A little about me: I am a queer and chronically-ill identified therapist and I love to cross-stitch! I can’t help but to notice parts and attachment styles everywhere, mainly in tv and books. I love finding ways to incorporate art and movement into healing. If you would like to learn more, please reach out for a free consultation to see if I would be a good fit. I look forward to working with you! *I have sliding scale slots from $85-$135 based on need* *I reserve a few slots on my caseload for clients seeking lower fee therapy ($40-$70 per session) through Open Path Psychotherapy Collective*

I believe we all have the potential to live a life that brings us joy and satisfaction. I believe we all have an inner strength that allows us to change and grow, no matter how adverse the circumstances that brought us here. A therapeutic relationship based on trust, honesty, and non-judgment can bring that strength to its rightful place in our lives. I take a holistic and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I recognize that there are generational, environmental, social, political, and cultural factors that impact our day-to-day lives and decisions and believe it's important to consider these factors when learning about my clients and their experiences. When we begin to understand ourselves and our ways of thinking and acting as a part of a larger whole, we can begin to improve the quality of our lives and our relationships, especially our relationship to the self. I help clients create real change through cultivating insight around their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the context of their life, relationships, and the world around them. I also help clients develop healthier, more effective coping skills. Together, we'll work to deepen your self awareness and build on what is good, strong, and true about yourself.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist
State College, PA

I received my master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Bryn Mawr College in 1995, and have been a therapist since that time. I have been in private practice in State College since 2006. My approach to therapy is diverse; I tend to practice from primarily interpersonal and psychodynamic perspectives, although I also draw from cognitive-behavioral paradigms. I see my role as provider of a safe and supportive environment in which to help individuals become more aware of the multiple aspects of themselves. A main component of the therapy consists of understanding how each person’s ‘story’ impacts who they are, and affects the difficulties they presently face. Clients are encouraged to consider their readiness for change as well as options for change that are both meaningful and realistic to them.

College can be a time of both high demand and high reward. It's a time where we find independence, our passions, new friendships, and more... all while being challenged in a way we haven't been before. This is a transition that warrants a support system to help us through. Whether it be daily life stress, deeper traumas you have endured, or anything in between, my role in this support system is to be here as a resource for you in your therapeutic journey. I look forward to working together to shed light on your strengths, increase self-understanding, and empower you through any hardships. Let's connect!

I specialize in working with young adults struggling with anxiety. During your college years, there is a lot of pressure to figure out who you are and what you want to do with your life. It can seem like everyone else has it figured out or maybe you wonder if you're the only one who feels anxious or uncertain about the future. I will help you work through that anxiety and develop the skills and tools you'll need to feel more confident.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Newtown, PA, certified in trauma. I am passionate about supporting adults and teens who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, sadness, loneliness, disconnection, panic attacks, or overwhelming stress. I also work with couples who want to strengthen their bond or work through challenging conflicts. My mission is to provide a warm and understanding space where clients can find the tools they need to move forward in a healthy and fulfilling way. I specialize in trauma therapy because I know how deeply it can affect every part of a person's life. Therapy is about your needs and pace, but as your therapist, I will guide and support you throughout the process. I invite anyone who feels the need to talk to someone who is ready and eager to listen to them. I have worked in mental, behavioral and relational health for the last ten years and am excited to incorporate more couples, duos, ethically and consensually non-monogamous clients as well as individuals. As a student marriage and family therapist with a behavioral therapy background, I have worked alongside and with a diverse group of humans. One approach to issues which I have adopted in my practice is the idea that all behavior is communication, sometimes we need some help finding out what we are trying to say. In session, it is important that each person feels heard, seen and respected equally. I approach sessions with a focused ability to provide an outside set of eyes, voice, and join in a stance of co-collaborator with clients in the healing and problem solving process. Whether we are working through a conflict, identity questions, or just checking in.

Being a student is a tough time of transition. There are alot of feelings that are swirling around, along with having to "stay on top of all of your academics and/or sports". For many students, it is the first time living without parents/guardians. You have to deal with faculty, and manage expectations from others as well as yourself. College life can be fun, but at the same time very stressful! Sometimes the stress causes other problems to pop up that you have not had to deal with before, or perhaps you did, but on a manageable level. Counseling can be an opportunity to talk through alot of these frustrations, and challenges. It can be a time to also find out about other resources in the world that can be helpful. Either way, it is YOUR time to figure out what would be helpful, and to get it! Reach out to Rays of Hope, we are eager to assist you during this time! PLEASE NOTE: I ALSO have office hours in Bala Cynwyd, Pa. which is right outside of Phila. near City Line Avenue.
